Further Education and Training Colleges Act, 2006 (Act No. 16 of 2006)

Chapter 1 : Definitions, Purpose and Application of Act

(1)	The purpose of this Act is to—

(a)	enable students to acquire—

(i)	the necessary knowledge;

(ii)	practical skills; and

(iii)

applied vocational and occupational competence; and

(b)	provide students with the necessary attributes required for—

(i)	employment;

(ii)	entry to a particular vocation, occupation or trade; or

(iii)

entry into a higher education institution.

(2)	This Act applies to all education institutions which have been established or declared a public college or registered as a private college in terms of this Act.
