Rules

Product warrantees should be honored by the supplier.

Only out of warrantee costs may be considered for funding where criteria is met.

Post-op wheelchairs: only S/steel standard or HD + manual leg elevation footrest (treatment period >12 weeks).

Prices exclude professional fee for evaluation,measuring, fitting, adjusting & follow ups.

Each item code (wheelchair/accessory/replacement/repair) includes the necessary accessories and hardware required to make it functionally fit as per the Instruction for use (IFU).

Accessories to new wheelchairs should be motivated and clinically relevant (eg. Caster wheels, laterals etc)

Eligibility dependent on supply protocol.

Permanent wheelchair users for daily mobility should be issued 4 pairs of pneumatic tubes or 2 pairs of solid tubes per annum.

Permanent wheelchair users for daily mobility should be issued 2 pairs of outer tubes per annum.

Wheelchairs should be prescribed according to the (Guidelines on the provision of manual wheelchairs in less resourced settings 'Wheelchair Guidelines, 2008):

Light manual wheelchair, ultra light manual wheelchair and advanced motorized wheelchair will only be considered if a wheelchair is the primary source of mobility for the user and requires a detailed clinical motivation.
