12. Offences and penalties

(1) Any person who insults, disparages or belittles the Chairperson or any member of the Commission or prejudices the inquiry or proceedings or findings of the Commission, is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine, or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months.

 

(2) Any person who—
(a) contravenes regulation 9;
(b) wilfully hinders, resists or obstructs the Chairperson or any officer in the exercise of any power contemplated in regulation 10; or
(c) contravenes a provision of regulation 11,

is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction—

(i) in the case of an offence referred to in paragraph (a) to a fine, or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months; and
(ii) in the case of an offence referred to in paragraph (b) or (c), to a fine, or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months.
